Boost up your PC performance through Defragmentation

To Know how Defragmentation boosts up your PC performance you must know what is Fragmentation-

Fragmentation-

After formatting your hard disk drives, when you install an OS or other applications they are stored contagiously in the hard disk but when you delete any file or remove an application, the respective allocated space gets deallocated creating a new free space and then when you save any new file, the respective deallocated space gets allocated but in a dis-contagious way which is dependent on the size of the file or application stored or installed again. In a way files gets stored in a  scattered manner depending on the free space it gets and thus it results into fragmentation which directly affects the access time of the operating system and making your system's performance slow.
Defragmentation helps to solve this problem let me explain you what is defragmentation.

Defragmentation-

Disk defragmentation in the context of computers, is a utility that reorganizes the scattered pieces of hard disks into a contagious manner and close together thus rearranges all the files properly and the free space is consolidated into a contagious block and then all the files are stored in an organized way which boosts up the access time and booting of the OS.

A very good example of fragmentation is explained here--http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/file/clustFragmentation-c.html

I used an disk defragmentator myself and yeah it really increased the access time of my OS as well as the mechanism of the hard disks. Before using it, whenever i used to open 'My computer' or any application like photoshop the OS took a time of generally 3-4 seconds(my computer) and almost a minute to open photoshop but after using the utility, as soon as i clicked the 'my computer' icon, it opens up with no pause and photoshop in just 15-20 seconds.so everyone whose getting frustrated out of the slow timings, i suggest you use the disk defragmentor utility.

I personally used 'Diskeeper', a very good and smart application which not only defrags but also gives you the overall analysis of hard disks.Just check it out yourself here.....

I second Diskeeper! Its a great tool.Diskeeper defrags my 320 GB drive very fast and without a hitch.I like the unintrusive background defrag option and low free space defrag.
