Google Chrome

After winning the war of the 'searches' google is all set a make a benchmark in the war of the browsers, and yeah we all can expect it to be a trend setter here too.

Google had been supporting Firefox all these years against Internet Explorer and others, but since google has dreams to dominate the web fraternity, it introduced its own browser Google 'Chrome' with some really cool features.
Lets have a look at Chrome's features-
Tabbed Browsing:
It has given a new way of tabbed browsing as now you can shift a tab from one position to another while you can see a thumbnail of the same site that you are moving. You can also regroup the tabs and the coolest thing is that you can move all the tabs to the top of the screen.
Memory Control through 'Task Manager'
Yes,now you can know, how much memory each tab is taking and close any tab which you think is taking unnecessary memory by right clicking on the blue bar at the top and then select 'Task Manager', a cool feature which is similar to the Windows Task Manager feature.
Safe Browsing through 'Incognito Window':
When you choose the 'New Incognito Window' option, a new window gets opened which allows you to browse without leaving traces and history by deleting the cookies of the sites that you visit through this window but there are certains conditions which u have to abide by, u can view them in the image below:
Address Bar Cum Search Bar Cum History Viewer:
When you type any text in the Address Bar, it gives you suggestions of the sites that you have visited, all the searches that u have made and displays your browsing history, in short the address bar is an all in one pack and this feature is quite similar to Firefox.
Don't be afraid of the 'Crashes':
Now you need not to be afraid if any of your tab has crashed because in Chrome, every tab runs independently so even if a tab gets crashed other tabs arent affected.Personaly i feel this is,by far the best feature any brower can have cuz its a common problem in the browsers that even if a single tab gets crashed, the whole window gets closed which is quite frustating.

Though Chrome has impressed me with its whole look and some unique features, there are things that i didnt liked about it:

If you visit a site having animations and flash files, chrome starts slowing down and makes u feel irritated about it but yeah chrome is not the only browser facing this problem, Firefox and IE also faces the similar problem. But hey with use of 'Task Manager' you can close the tab which is taking a lot of memory of your computer.
There are no customizations options available like it is in Firefox, so you dont have a complete control over the Chrome.
Since Chrome is a new born baby, it lacks Add-ons but yeah we can expect them to be available soon.
Well though Chrome has features for blocking cookies and insecure content, it dosnt have a special parental control, which i think is a must for any browser.

Having gone through all the cons and pros, still i think, Chrome is here to stay and like always google's habit of doing things in its own unique dominating way, surely we can expect Chrome to do well in the long run and i just wish Chrome all my best wishes cuz personally am a Google lover :).....

Boost up your PC performance through Defragmentation

To Know how Defragmentation boosts up your PC performance you must know what is Fragmentation-

Fragmentation-

After formatting your hard disk drives, when you install an OS or other applications they are stored contagiously in the hard disk but when you delete any file or remove an application, the respective allocated space gets deallocated creating a new free space and then when you save any new file, the respective deallocated space gets allocated but in a dis-contagious way which is dependent on the size of the file or application stored or installed again. In a way files gets stored in a  scattered manner depending on the free space it gets and thus it results into fragmentation which directly affects the access time of the operating system and making your system's performance slow.
Defragmentation helps to solve this problem let me explain you what is defragmentation.

Defragmentation-

Disk defragmentation in the context of computers, is a utility that reorganizes the scattered pieces of hard disks into a contagious manner and close together thus rearranges all the files properly and the free space is consolidated into a contagious block and then all the files are stored in an organized way which boosts up the access time and booting of the OS.

A very good example of fragmentation is explained here--http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/file/clustFragmentation-c.html

I used an disk defragmentator myself and yeah it really increased the access time of my OS as well as the mechanism of the hard disks. Before using it, whenever i used to open 'My computer' or any application like photoshop the OS took a time of generally 3-4 seconds(my computer) and almost a minute to open photoshop but after using the utility, as soon as i clicked the 'my computer' icon, it opens up with no pause and photoshop in just 15-20 seconds.so everyone whose getting frustrated out of the slow timings, i suggest you use the disk defragmentor utility.

I personally used 'Diskeeper', a very good and smart application which not only defrags but also gives you the overall analysis of hard disks.Just check it out yourself here.....

Cuil.com

Recently i got to know about a new search engine ie, 'cuil.com' so i just thought of getting an inside information on this and i got to know that cuil has been started off by google's ex-employees Anna Patterson, Russell Power and Louis Monier and co-founder and CEO Tom Costello(former IBM employee).Cuil is pronounced as cool and claims to have the biggest database compared to google, yahoo and msn but i think the figures are basicaly used for promotion who knows the reality behind these figures and its better to be more realistic.

Cuil has a black color theme unlike the other 3 majors in the search engine race and yeah the layout is good as far as scrolling is concered u can view a short discription with a thumbnail of the search u made but i quite doubt the reality behind the databases as i made a search n found almost the same results till the fourth page(man i was surprised to see same links from page1 till page4,all allocated at different places thats it) so what does it mean u dont need to goto another page if u havnt found what u wanted or u can try if u have time to pass hehe...but there's one thing that i liked is that unlike the other search engines cuil dosnt store user searches and IP addresses, as google stores your personal searches its like BIG BROTHER watching u all the time :P...hmmm so i think its a quite 'cool' feature hehe...but hey u never know whats cooking behind the claims and numbers...!!!BEWARE anyways!!!

To know more features and review on cuil.com just check out the following video.....
